Once more with feeling: Congressional Dems PLEASE GROW UP
More important than the technical challenges, though, are the raw political ones. The House and Senate don't trust each other; neither one trusts the White House. And, within each chamber, the leaders are constantly trying to figure out what their members will and won't support--which has been difficult to gauge, since many members are reluctant to commit before they've seen a final package.
This is so incredibly frustrating. Despite the constant bleating from anonymous coward Congressional Democrats, the course is clear. House pass the Senate bill, House and Senate pass the reconciliation fix. This has been known for almost a month now.
And likewise Congress has been paralyzed for almost a month now because of this irrational attitude, this paranoia. Democrats in Congress, you have GOT to get past this. I don't care if your feelings are hurt because the Senate was mean to you. It's time to act like fucking adults and just do your damn jobs.
Pass the damn bill. Do it as soon as possible after the forum. Please let there be an end to this constant hand-wringing and bed-wetting. 30 million Americans without health insurance are depending on you to put them first, not your neuroses.
